Resident Diaries​

Bharat Uncle,83 years, is an institution by himself with a body of work that is so inspirational. He has built a legacy worthy of acknowledgment and celebration. With 57 years of an established corporate career with the same organization, rising from a storekeeper to a leadership role, his life has been a swing of work and selfless service.

Kiran Desai Uncle, 88 years, just like his name, brings rays of light and hope to hundreds of children in the small town of Nadiad, in Gujarat. His core belief is to spend money wherein the benefit is ongoing and helps to build a life. More on that later, but first, a look back at his innings so far.

Mani Foi (92 years) is undoubtedly our princess at PapayaCare! Her younger sister Roshan Foi (90 years) is a fellow resident here and takes great pride in narrating her sister’s story, from whom she has learned many life lessons. Mani Foi is diagnosed with advanced dementia and now hardly recalls much.

“Sales begin when the customer says NO! ” Says Shirish Uncle ( 92 years, PapayaCare resident). Every time we pass through his room, we get the warmest smile that exuberates positivity. Shirish Uncle, 92 years, a resident at PapayaCare remains an ambassador for our facility.

“Lala Amarnath,” says Balan Uncle with a dazzling smile. Laxmi Shankar Balan, Balan uncle as we call him at PapayaCare, is nearing a century in his real life.
